Kursk State Medical University, the University of Higher Professional Education and the Ministry Own Russian Government Health and Social Medicine. This Medical institute opened in 1935. The university is developing intensively and in 1994 it was granted university status. It is now a multidisciplinary medical university and a medical, educational and cultural center in the Central Black Earth and the Kursk region.
