#2 College Program In Peking University


 Peking University was founded on July 3, 1898 in  Haidian District, Beijing, China. It was known as the Imperial University of Peking. Peking consists of 30 colleges and 12 departments, with 93 specialties for undergraduates, 2 specialties for the second Bachelor's degree, 199 specialties for Master's degree candidates and 173 specialties for doctoral candidates. It has been becoming a center for teaching and research, consisting of diverse branches of learning such as pure & applied sciences, social sciences & humanities, and sciences of management & education.

According to the latest data published by the ESI (Essential Science Indicators), Peking University, among universities and research institutions worldwide, ranked among the top 1% in 18 fields including mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and biochemistry, monocular biology and genetics, computer science, engineering, materials science, botany and zoology, earth science, agronomy, psychiatry and psychology, environmental science and ecological science, clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology, neuroscience and behavioral science, social science, economics and business, standing out as the best in Mainland China.

Over the past century, Peking has developed into a comprehensive institution of higher learning, embracing diverse branches of knowledge such as humanities and social sciences, engineering and applied sciences, education and medical science, linguistics and management science. Its inclusiveness of liberal arts and sciences highlights the University's long-standing strength in a well-balanced disciplinary structure.
