Since 2008 the International Master/PhD Program in Biomedical Sciences, The IMBS Program, is a joint program between the University of Freiburg and the Faculties of Medicine, and Pharmacy and Biochemistry of the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. They have had 64 graduates from more than ten different countries (Argentina, Germany, Brasil, USA, Mexico, Nigeria, Colombia, Chile, Ukraine, India and Indonesia). These students have different backgrounds and are graduated in Medicine, Biology, Biotechnology, Pharmacy and Biochemistry.
The teaching parts in Buenos Aires (7 months) and in Freiburg (5 months) are individually certified as 'postgraduate courses'. Since 2013 the Albert-Ludwigs-University. Freiburg Academy of Continuing Education (FRAUW) presents for the successful completion of the postgraduate course in Freiburg a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Biomedical Sciences (DAS) consisting of 30 Credit Points in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
