New York University, #5 globally among universities with the highest number of alumni


New York University (NYU) was Founded in 1831. It is a private, nonsectarian American research university based in New York City. New York University’s primary campus is located in the lively Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan.This University is now one of the largest private universities in the United States. Of the more than 3,000 colleges and universities in America, New York University is one of only 60 member institutions of the distinguished Association of American Universities. The core of NYU consists of buildings that surround Washington Square Park. With approximately 11,000 undergraduate and graduate residents,it had the seventh-largest university housing system in the U.S. as of 2007, and one of the largest among private schools.

NYU's very first semester, enrollment has grown to more than 50,000 students at three degree-granting campuses in New York City, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai, and at study away sites in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, North and South America.Today, students come from every state in the union and from 133 foreign countries.Its mission is to be a top quality international center of scholarship, teaching and research.

NYU is home to many prominent alumni. It has 470,000 living alumni as of 2015.  At least thirty-six Nobel Prize winners are affiliated with NYU.NYU ranked #5 globally among universities with the highest number of alumni worth $30 million or more, as compiled by ABC News. By BBC, it has  ranked#15 globally among universities with the most billionaire graduates. NYU ranked #7 amongst the World’s top 100 universities for producing millionaires, as compiled by Times Higher Education World University Rankings. 

Nationally NYU has ranked #14 in the Center For World University Rankings, #32 by U.S. News & World Report, #19 in the Academic Ranking of World Universities, #15 by Global Language Monitor and #17 by QS World University Rankings.

When applying to New York University, it's important to note the application deadline is January 1, and the early decision deadline is November 1. Scores for either the ACT or SAT test are due January 31. The application fee at New York University is $70. It is more selective, with an acceptance rate of 35.5 percent
